■ A Message Ahead of Our 12th Event of Season 2

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Late July 2026.

"Asuka-Fujiwara: Archaeological Sites of Japan's Ancient Capitals," spanning Asuka Village, Kashihara City, and Sakurai City in Nara Prefecture, is expected to be inscribed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.

Comprising 19 properties — including palace and government office ruins, Buddhist temple sites, and ancient tombs — this archaeological complex tells the story of how ancient Japan, through exchange with East Asia, evolved into a centralized state.

Just as the world turns its attention to Asuka —

For our 43rd event overall, Shibuya Web3 University confronts "Web3 × Regional Revitalization" head-on.

The stage is set in two regions.

The first is Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture — a village buzzing with excitement over its World Heritage inscription, yet facing a structural challenge: vacant houses, a consequence of the very "Asuka Law" that has protected its historic landscape.

The second is Jinsekikogen Town, Hiroshima Prefecture — a hidden gem of regional revitalization activity that Shibuya Web3 University believes deserves the spotlight now. There, the implementation of a "Co-Creation DAO" is already underway, pairing talent from Tokyo's Minato City with local players to build businesses together from the value dormant in the region.

And translating both regions' challenges through the lens of Web3, DAOs, and fandom — and supporting them as businesses — is e-Agency Group / FandomTech.

Vision. Case study. And a candid, no-holds-barred talk session.

This is a night when the people on the ground bring the reality of "Web3 × Regional Revitalization" to Shibuya.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

■ Opening Special: My Solana Superteam Hackathon Story

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Before the main program, Quinn (CEO of 1BITLAB), a member of the Shibuya Web3 University Create course, delivers a five-minute special presentation on her experience competing in the Solana Superteam Hackathon.

Not letting learning end at learning, but diving into the world's front lines and building — this is the real story of a challenge born from the Shibuya Web3 University community, condensed into five minutes.

Five minutes from a true practitioner: the perfect opening for a night dedicated to "Web3 × Regional Revitalization."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

■ Keynote: The e-Agency Journey — and Why "Web3 × Regional Revitalization," Why Now

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The evening opens with a keynote by Maki Kai, Representative Director of e-Agency Group Inc.

Founded in Kyoto in 1995. Guided by the credo of "the science of hospitality (omotenashi)," a roughly 30-year journey of supporting corporate growth through data-driven digital marketing and cloud businesses. And in recent years, an ongoing exploration of AI, Web3, and DAO-style organizations —

Why does "the region" lie on the extension of that path? Why Asuka Village and Jinsekikogen Town, of all places? And where did the idea behind the name FandomTech — "reimagining a region as a fandom" — come from?

Connecting the company's journey to the origins of these projects, this keynote sets the stage for everything that follows.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

■ From Asuka Village: Asuka Ietsugi-sha (Shigeya Nakajima)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Asuka Village's historic landscape has been protected across the entire village by the "Asuka Law," enacted in 1980. Yet those strict rules have also cast a shadow: population outflow and a growing number of vacant houses. Restoring a single traditional folk house costs roughly 40 million yen. Despite strong "demand" — the village's powerful brand and a growing number of would-be residents — properties rarely reach the market, held back by owners' deep attachment to land passed down through generations.

Rising to meet this structural challenge is the general incorporated association "Asuka Ietsugi-sha," led by Shigeya Nakajima, a native of the village. By lowering the barriers to property utilization through trusted intermediation, the organization aims for village-wide revitalization — with the restoration of traditional folk houses as its starting point.

Asuka Village today, standing at the historic milestone of World Heritage inscription: Mr. Nakajima will introduce the organization working on the ground, in his own words.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

■ From Jinsekikogen Town: NPO Tenku Mirai Juku (Tatsuya Nakano)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

In Jinsekikogen Town, Hiroshima Prefecture, a concrete implementation is already in motion: the "Minato City × Jinsekikogen Town Co-Creation DAO."

The "Regional Challenge Quests," born from interviews with local businesses, feature authentic themes rooted in the realities of the region: a sake brewery operating continuously since 1716 (the first year of the Kyoho era), order-management DX for a small-team miso brewery, experience programs built around heirloom konnyaku, and the redesign of the delivery network that sustains daily life.

On the regional side, the driving force is the nonprofit Tenku Mirai Juku. Founded by Tatsuya Nakano — who has spent many years at the town office in public administration and regional revitalization — the organization draws visitors to the region through events such as "Sharin-mura" and "Tenku Yosakoi," while developing the people who will shape the region's future.

Jinsekikogen Town, a hidden gem of regional revitalization activity: Mr. Nakano will introduce the organization standing on its front lines, in his own words.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

■ Talk Session: Asuka's Fandom Vision × Jinsekikogen's Co-Creation DAO

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The centerpiece of the evening is a 45-minute talk session.

Mr. Nakajima of Asuka Village, Mr. Nakano of Jinsekikogen Town, and Mr. Kai of e-Agency Group. Joining these three practitioners as moderator is a member of the Shibuya Web3 University Create course, drawing out the heart of these projects through dialogue.

What comes into view when we reimagine a region as a "fandom"? What does it actually mean to run a DAO not as a technical term, but as "a framework for acting together across roles and positions"? And how do Web3 and blockchain fit into a mechanism that gathers financial and hands-on support and gives back to owners and supporters?

No sugarcoating: the funding wall. The people wall. The institutional wall. As Mr. Kai translates and dissects the raw challenges of rural Japan through a Web3 lens, the session digs into why, despite everything, these regions are moving.

This is not a session where you listen to prepared answers. It is one where the contours of the future emerge from the dialogue itself — and you experience that process as it happens.

Shigeya Nakajima

Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture Representative Director, Asuka Ietsugi-sha (General Incorporated Association)

Born and raised in Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture, he left the village for a time before returning home as his daughter grew up. Through encounters with newcomers to the village, he came to see Asuka's value and potential from an outside perspective — as well as the challenges the region faces — sparking a desire to share the region's appeal himself and carry it into the future. Today, he runs a guesthouse in a restored traditional folk house and works on locally rooted tourism, the restoration of abandoned farmland, and vacant house utilization. While building frameworks that connect people inside and outside the region, he is taking on the challenge of sustainable community-building and creating Asuka's future.

Tatsuya Nakano

Jinsekikogen Town, Jinseki District, Hiroshima Prefecture Representative Director, NPO Tenku Mirai Juku

Since joining the Jinsekikogen Town Office in April 1995, he has devoted himself to public administration alongside long-standing regional revitalization work. In December 2023, he founded the nonprofit Tenku Mirai Juku, dedicated to developing the people who will shape the region's future and promoting community exchange. Through events such as "Sharin-mura" and "Tenku Yosakoi," he creates vibrancy and draws visitors to the region, while also devoting energy to childcare support programs and advancing sustainable town development.

■ What Shibuya Web3 University Aims For

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Shibuya Web3 University has entered its fourth year.

From Event #0 to Event #43, we have held in-person events every single month at WeWork, Shibuya Scramble Square. What we have always valued is a simple perspective: not "technology for technology's sake," but "technology for people and society."

Our goal is to remain a gathering place for practitioners who, through the keyword "Web3," think together about the future shape of society — and act on it together.

For this 43rd event, we face the essence of "Web3 × Regional Revitalization" through the realities of two regions: Asuka Village, standing at the historic milestone of World Heritage inscription, and Jinsekikogen Town, where co-creation is already being put into practice.

Shibuya Web3 University will continue moving to the next stage, together with everyone who shares our vision.
