■ A Message for the 8th Event of Season 2

Now in our 4th year, Shibuya Web3 University is tackling Security as the most critical theme as Web3 enters the real game.

In March 2026, the word "Web3" disappeared from Japan's national growth strategy. This is not an "ending" — it's the beginning of a return to fundamentals.

Back in the early 2000s, people said "the internet is over." Yet beneath the surface, communication infrastructure and data distribution were steadily evolving, laying the groundwork for the massive industries that followed. The same is happening now. Excessive hype and speculation have simply been cleared away — the core evolution of trusted data distribution and decentralized technology has never stopped.

And now, we are entering a genuinely exciting phase.

When cutting-edge technology becomes social infrastructure, institutional trust is just as important as the technology itself. Japan is ahead of the world in building legal frameworks for crypto assets and Web3, and is cultivating cross-industry security cooperation. The environment needed for technology to take root in society is steadily coming together.

Markets with solid security practices and clear legal frameworks are precisely where real businesses and investments will gather. This is a major gateway to Japan becoming the next-generation standard-bearer for Web3.

Developments in financial instruments law reform, global attack trends, the frontlines of industry-wide cooperation — join us for an evening of deep discussion on "designing trust" with practitioners on the ground.
