Shibuya Web3 University Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo; CEO: Gen Kitamura) announces that as part of a four-company consortium with BLOCKSMITH&Co., Turing Japan Inc., and Kangaeru Bousai Inc., we have been selected for Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture's "FY2025 Iizuka City Advanced Information Technology Demonstration Experiment Support Project."
This demonstration experiment is Japan's first initiative to realize the integration of daily disaster prevention awareness and digitalization of evacuation center reception through the fusion of blockchain technology and analog community activities.
Two Pillars of the Demonstration: An Innovative Digital × Analog Approach
1. QAQA-BO: Gamifying Disaster Prevention Through Quizzes × Point Rewards
QAQA Solution: Utilizing "QAQA," a user-generated point reward quiz app developed by BLOCKSMITH&Co., we employ the disaster prevention solution "QAQA-BO." With partnership achievements including Warner Bros, SEGA, and Nippon Beer Co., Ltd., it features cutting-edge AI quiz generator functionality that automatically creates quizzes from PDFs and URLs.
What is QAQA-BO: In this demonstration, QAQA will be deployed as the disaster prevention-specialized version "QAQA-BO 'Iizuka Disaster Prevention Circle Channel'":
Disaster prevention channel accessed through Iizuka City's official LINE account
System encouraging daily participation in disaster prevention quizzes reflecting regional characteristics
Continuous learning promotion through consecutive participation login bonus system
Issuance of "Disaster Prevention Learning Certificates" demonstrating learning achievements
Content design enabling three-generation participation
2. Turing Certs Evacuation Center Authentication System: Next-Generation Evacuation Center Management Using DID/VC
What is Turing Certs: "Turing Certs" provided by Turing Japan Inc. is a W3C international standard-compliant verifiable digital certificate platform that has issued over 6 million digital certificates worldwide and is used by over 550 issuing organizations including WHO, APEC, Harvard University HCAP, and Taiwan government agencies. It implements advanced security technology that is tamper-proof and completes authenticity verification with one click.
Innovation of Turing Certs Evacuation Center Authentication System: This demonstration builds the "Turing Certs Evacuation Center Authentication System" utilizing Turing Certs' Verifiable Credential technology:
Pre-registration: Citizens participating in the experiment obtain DID/VC
QR code reception: Instant identity verification by simply scanning QR codes at evacuation centers
Privacy protection: Compliant with ISO27001, ISO27701. Fully applicable to GDPR
Blockchain selectability: Groundbreaking implementation allowing choice between IOTA blockchain (international standard) and Toshiba's enterprise blockchain "DNCWARE Blockchain+" (domestic technology)
Tamper prevention: Complete prevention of evacuee information tampering through blockchain technology
The True Value of Analog × Digital: Kangaeru Bousai's "Leave No One Behind" Disaster Prevention
Digital technology alone cannot achieve "leave no one behind" disaster prevention. Only with community-rooted analog initiatives can the two digital applications (QAQA-BO and Turing Certs Evacuation Center Authentication System) become truly effective.
Kangaeru Bousai Inc.'s Community-Based Approach
Philosophy of Former Fire Commander Toshiyuki Takagi: Based on the belief born from 11 years and 9 months of firefighting experience that "we want to reduce human casualties from disasters to zero through preparation":
Face-to-face preliminary briefings: Smartphone operation guidance for elderly
Coordination with regional disaster drills: Natural integration of digital tools into existing disaster prevention activities
Multi-generational exchange events: Creating opportunities for grandparents, parents, and children to learn together
Combined use of paper and digital: Paper-based support for those uncomfortable with digital
Region-specific initiatives: Considering disaster countermeasures implementable in regions based on hazard maps
This analog foundation enables elderly participation in QAQA-BO disaster prevention quizzes and makes the Turing Certs Evacuation Center Authentication System accessible to all citizens.
