■ Message for Season 2, Event #4

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Five years have passed since the GIGA School Initiative realized one device per student.

Significant changes in learning have occurred since we adults were in school.

The second phase, Next GIGA, has begun, and last December the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) announced the Generative AI Guidelines for Elementary and Secondary Education (Ver. 2.0).

But the real question isn't "How do we use generative AI?"

It's "What should education be for children heading toward Society 5.0?" — recognizing the changing nature of learning and how new technologies can contribute to it.

Education 2030, the new Course of Study — practical learning and challenges based on fundamental principles have begun.

With schools of the 2030s in mind, the Minister of Education's consultation that started deliberations on the next Course of Study includes these words:

"The development of digital technologies such as generative AI not only imposes difficulties and burdens on individuals and society accompanying change, but also creates opportunities to realize the diverse thoughts, wishes, and intentions of individuals. As the working-age population rapidly declines, mobilizing all resources including technology to enable all children to develop their diverse and abundant potential is essential for our nation's future."

This event brings together researchers practicing at the forefront of educational reform, practitioners who have supported the GIGA School Initiative, and evangelists at the forefront of technology to discuss these topics through the lens of generative AI × Web3, helping diverse audiences understand this "new world of learning."

For Web3 practitioners: hints for community management. For education professionals: Web3 possibilities right around the corner.

The answers lie in the field.

Let's learn together, think together, and create the future together.
